YouTheatre Auditions/Workshops (Grades 1-5)

Who's Dying to be a Millionaire?

Who can audition:  grades 3-5

Auditions:
February 13th for last names A-L  in the Cassingham Theater  5:30-7:30PM
February 14th for last names M-Z in the Cassingham Theater  5:30-7:30PM
Callbacks:  February 15th in the Cassingham Theater  5:30-7:30PM

Students who cannot attend their scheduled audition may audition on the other date.
Students need to plan on staying for the entire length of the audition.

Prepare:  A short poem to recite using voice and body movement to create emotions, character, and excitement.  It is recommended that the poem be memorized as it gives the actor greater freedom. Shel Silverstein poems are great to use.

Bring:  clothes you can move in, a pen or pencil

Those auditioning will be asked to act out their poems, demonstrate basic acting techniques, and read parts from the script.

Callbacks are a time when the director can see specific students read for specific roles and get a better understanding of where he/she fits into the cast.  Simply because a student is on the callback list does not necessarily mean he or she will earn a part.  Also, if a student is not on the callback list, that doesn't necessarily mean he or she has been cut.  Only students listed on the callback list should attend callbacks.  You can find the callback list on the callback page.  It may be that callbacks won't be necessary.  In that case, the cast list will be posted after the second audition date.

The cast list will be posted after callbacks on the cast list page.  You should visit the production forms page to download the rehearsal calendar and obtain other information you need for cast and crew members.
