Classes

Bexley City School District offers three theatre classes to Bexley High School students.  These classes allow students to explore theatre at different levels, from an introduction to advanced acting and technical theatre, so whether a high school student wants to work in a professional theatre or he/she just wants to hone their speaking skills, there is a theatre class for him/her.

Introduction to Theatre
When:  6th and 7th periods, fall semester
Prerequisite:  a desire to learn more about theatre
For:  Grades 9-12
Students will study basic acting techniques focusing on the actor's toolbox (preparation, movement, voice), basic technical theatre (direction, set design, costume design, lights, sound), and theatre history (specifically Greek, Japanese, Italian, and American focus).  While there are some notes and tests, most classwork is conducted through hands on, creative group projects.  Students will act and design plays for their finals.  This is a great class for students who have never done theatre as well as those who have participated for years.  For more information, click here.
